You call that fracas? I call it a team building experience. What were the Mets known for when they defeated your Redsux in '86? Yeah you'll see us in the ALCS.
No one's a bigger Yankee fan but...wtf is Posada thinking or not thinking. Pretty stupid to escalate that. And one other thing, Posada is all juiced before he gets on the bases. Yanks are losing 9-2 at the time, why didn't Girardi pinch run for him? That would have kept the whole thing from happening.
If you watch the video again Carlson steps into Posada. Carlson thought he was going to have to back up the play but when he realized he didn't, he took an extra step to bump Posada.
yep Carlson is in the wrong position to back up a play, but the right position to get a fight started. But Carlson's playing for a team going absolutely nowhere. Posada has to be smarter than this. What good does a fight do anyone there? He doesn't need to fire up the team; he needs to make sure everyone's healthy heading to the playoffs. If you look CC and Joba are right in the middle. Really, Jorge was 2 kinds of dumb to get that started. He's a veteran and should know better. Apparently the team was pissed at him for starting it and that's probably why he took his 3 games without appeal, to get out of their faces for a few days.
